Someone hit me and it wasn't my fault, what should I do?
Call MSL Customs before you call anyone else. On a non-fault accident the claim runs against the other driver's insurer, so your own policy and no-claims bonus stay protected. We arrange recovery, deal with the third-party insurer, sort a courtesy car, and repair your vehicle, with no excess for you to pay on a non-fault claim.
Can I choose my own repairer, or must I use my insurer's garage?
No, you don't. Your insurer can recommend their own approved network, but they can't compel you, because it's your car and your choice. Tell them you want MSL, or pass the phone to us and we'll have that conversation for you, including confirming what they'll cover before any work starts. Either way the work is backed by our written guarantee.
Who pays for the repair and my excess?
On a non-fault claim, the other driver's insurer covers the repair and there's no excess for you to pay. On an at-fault or own-fault claim, the repair goes through your own policy and you pay your agreed excess. We tell you exactly where you stand before any work starts. No surprises at collection.
My car isn't driveable, can you collect it?
Yes. If your vehicle is unsafe to drive we'll arrange recovery to our Birmingham workshop and assess the damage within 24 hours of it arriving.
Do you repair to manufacturer standards?
Every repair is to manufacturer specification: OEM or factory-approved parts matched to your VIN, in-house colour matching, wheel-off inspections and a geometry check, finished with a road test and a written guarantee. We also carry out structural work many bodyshops turn away.
How long will the repair take?
It depends on the damage, but we assess within 24 hours and give you a realistic timeline up front. Many repairs are turned around in days, not weeks, and we keep you updated throughout with photos and video.
